cold storage organization

Byers' Basement Market!  Our Food storage.  I wanted to make it look like a grocery store.  organizing made me realized how pitiful our food storage is..so now every the time I go to store, I try to add to it...even if it just a can of soup or something.

My new Organized Pantry

The place that always is a complete disaster, it is my pantry.  It seems like I tried really hard to keep it organized, but with 3 other people getting their grubby hands in there, and the pantry monster who eats all the stuff I buy that I can't ever find, (there is no other explanination about where it goes except for a black hole) there is no possible way I could keep it organized.  But no more!!  I got inspired from a blog I found on pinterest about keeping things organized..so I decided that I was going to organize it once and for all.

So I clean everything out..(how come you have to make a bigger mess to clean up a mess?)

I painted it gray and used a stencil to paint some white embellishments...which I really like...
Then I put everything back in..this was the hardest part, trying to figure out a system that would work and stay organized.  I scrimmaged around my house for any container, basket, glass vase...whatever that would be great and used it.  I also put all the stuff I don't use frequently downstairs in the cold storage.   Now everything has a place, and for over a month now, we ( all the grubby hands) have been able to keep everything in it's place.  It is so theraputic to look in there now.  It looks great. I love things that are organized.  I got in such a organization mood that I reorganized my whole kitchen and my cold storage.  whew!  Sure glad I did it! Sure glad it is done! Hopefully I won't have to do it for a long time.

Jane is 9 months old!!!

  • Our sweet Jane is 9 months old.  I can't believe how fast the time has gone by.  I just have loved having her as part of our family!  This month I have really noticed that she has made huge jumps in her development.  She finally will eat food...not baby food, but finger food.  I was having the hardest time getting her to eat anything, but now if she can pick it up, she'll eat it. If I try to feed food to her on a spoon, or if it is mushy, she won't eat it at all!  She is crazy.  Her favorite food's right now are bananas, peas, yogurt, carrots, and any crumb that she can find on the floor.  Last week she started crawling, and now she is getting to be pretty fast.  She is a lot more content now that she is crawling.  The last couple of weeks she has been super onery and hard to entertain, but now she is much more happy moving around.  Last week she learned to clap, which is so exciting.  Her favorite word or baby babble is "da-da-da-da"  and we love it when she yells it..so cute.  Luke says, "mom, Jane is talking about Daddy."  Sometimes we can hear her say something that resembles "hi, dad," and it is always in a whipser.  She is starting to say "ma-ma-ma," but I have only heard her say it a couple of times. Her hair is growing fast and I can finally put it in a pony tail at the top of her head, one of the joys of having a girl.  I just love that!
  • She is a really easy going baby..she is just content sitting on my lap most of the time.  She definetly prefers mommy to and has had a hard time lately when anybody else holds her.

This was her christmas dress...I didn't realize that I never got a picture of her in her Christmas dress until February...I am so lame!!!But because she is still so little, it fits!  This girl is still fitting in some of her 0-3 month onesies.  She is crazy!
